Blood tests show I have food allergies but I don’t have symptoms can I still eat the food?
I tried soy milk for the first time a month or so ago and I couldn’t breathe well after I had it. When I went to the doctor she did an allergy test on my blood and as expected it said I was allergic to soy. But as well as soy it showed I am allergic to wheat, peanuts, walnuts, and corn. I eat wheat, peanuts, and corn products all the time with no problems. Is it okay if I continue to eat these foods? I have an epipen if anything does happen.
Firstly before you take ANY advice offered here you need to discuss your personal results and symptoms with your treating Dr. They are the only one to be able to effectively offer advice to you.
The whole point of having an epipen is to avoid using it at ALL costs and by that I mean take whatever means it takes to avoid an allergic reaction-this means avoiding the things you are allergic to and being really really careful
Having said that….spt/rast will often show false positive results-real life reactions are usually what you are advised to go by-but this needs to be discussed with your Dr.
You know you have real life reactions to soy…but you definitely need to clarify the other ones.
good luck

i think it’s fine to still continue to eat the products because there’s no reaction. but you should prob consult your doctor about the food products. i have some food allergies but i also dont react to them when i eat them…

I agree with c4,
However, be prepared for one day when your body changes and your reactions present themselves. I have never had an allergic reaction to eggs until I got the flu shot this year, which I have had in previous years with no problems. I broke out in hives and experienced asthma flare ups. My doctor explained to me that just like kids grow out of allergies, adults can grow into them. Even ones that are present but inactive can one day show up and cause havoc.

Well, i am actually allergic to Peanuts, Wheat, Soy, and corn as well(im lucky not to be allergic to walnuts). But i was given the prescription for an EpiPen, hell i got it with me now, but around two years ago i ate 3 peanuts and an air head extreme, the next day i woke up to see i had a severe rash all over my body and my lip got really swollen. I was freaking out…. Heck i was only 7th grade. Now i have taken everything with peanuts out of my diet. And i haven’t had a reaction since. So it really only depends what level of severeness your test show. I had another blood test done and that was when i found out i am allergic to corn. I actually just had some popcorn at a hockey game and now my legs are breaking out in a rash. it may be Psychosomatic since what has happened before, but it just goes to show, be careful what you eat when your allergic to all of these things. Please do reply if i could be of any help!.!.

I can not agree with you in 100% regarding some thoughts, but you got good point of view.

im allergic to corn too and show no symptoms… or so i thought, it really works like this, if u have an allergie and u show know signs its because your body works so hard to deal with it, and all the energy goes to it instead of spreading it to places like ur brain diegestive system, thyirod ( with is my probelm, mine is only workin at 4% ) but when i stoped eating corn my numbers went up cause more of my bodys energy went into more important things, so if ur haveing trouble gaining or losing weight, thinking clear, nail biting, sleeping, feeligna wake, hetting sick, you should prob. stop eating thoese items, but corn is in almost “EVERYTHING along with highfrutous corn syrup so start off with little small changes, like getting different bread or cearle that doesnt contain it!
