allergic
I have recently, with the on set of spring, started having allergy problems which include a feeling in my throat like it is closing. Is there an OTC medication that works better than other and wont make me sleepy?
My first thought is claritin but recently my doctor stated that he thinks zyrtec is better. they are both OTC. don’t forget to take it daily if u start, consistency is important. or so says my doc. good luck and have a good easter.

food allergy
By that I mean if someone has a nasal allergy to ragweed pollen, do they then have a food allergy to a plant in the ragweed family if they eat the plant? Or are nasal and food allergies two completely different reactions by one’s immune system?
Some but not all have food reactions to plant family pollens. They are not as severe as regular food reactions. You won’t be carrying an epipen like someone who is peanut allergic.
Some people with an allergy to ragweed will have an oral cross-reaction to melons, chamomile and a few other items. It is usually an itchy mouth and tongue. Sometimes it will go as far as the throat. It rarely goes any further than that. Being treated for the pollen will minimize or even eliminate the food reaction.

allergic
Ok, I have allergies to peppers each time I get an allergic reaction it takes longer and longer for the allergy to occur last time it was nearly 10 hours after eating the food this time it was 17 hours after eating the food. Is this even possible? I thought reactions occured at max 4-6 hours after eating the food.
im 18 years old btw. Im reading lots of articles and I think I might have something called type 2 hypersensitivity.
Allergies are generally weird. One minute you could be allergic to something and the next minute the allergy disappears!
Food allergies are especially weird. I used to get sick every time I ate crab – but now I’m not anymore. Kiwi also makes my lips & tongue feel fuzzy, but this is a recent development for me.
The thing is that you can ‘outgrow’ food allergies. Other allergies can last your whole life, although they may be less severe and more severe at different points in your life.
Sounds like your body is learning how to cope with your reaction to peppers and/or you’re becoming less sensitive!
